For the locals in Amsterdam and all of those who like to stay updated on news from the city online, we have an extra special treat: next week, two times a day from Monday through Sunday, Mama Agatha will be broadcast on Amsterdam’s local TV station AT5!

Mama Agatha will be screening at Espoo Ciné International Film Festival in Finland!
Espoo Ciné International Film Festival has established itself as a showcase of modern European cinema in Finland. The festival is dedicated to screen films that demonstrate the variety of European filmmaking with an emphasis on new talent, discovery and artistic quality. During the 10-day festival over 100 feature films are screened to the cinema-loving public in three different locations with attendance figures over 25.000 each year. You can catch Mama Agatha in the section “Bike Shorts” on August 26.
After our spring tour and a whole bunch of wonderful community screenings of Mama Agatha across Europe (including in Slovakia, Malta and the place where it all began – in Amsterdam Southeast, where Mama Agatha’s cycling courses take place), we are heading back across the pond: Opening today is the 15th edition of SF DocFest, the annual festival devoted to documentary cinema. Since 2001, this two-week-long event has brought the most weird and wonderful aspects of real life to the big screen. We have the great pleasure to be participating in one of the very best documentary festivals in the Bay area – Mama Agatha is screening in the section “Badass women” on June 12 and June 15 in San Francisco’s marvelous, historic non-profit cinema, the Roxie theatre. Let’s encourage more people to switch from cars to bicycles! Hosted by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Malta, one week from now, Mama Agatha will be screening at the Bicycle Drive-In Open Air Cinema in St George Square, Valetta. If you happen to be living nearby or visiting the area, make sure not to miss it! Don’t forget your bike – we start May 12, 2016 at 8 PM.
Almost two years ago, we were preparing to start filming the cycling classes of “Mama Agatha” – Agartha Frimpong – and her team in the SouthEast gym. Now, just as another round of classes for migrant women has started, we’re so happy to announce that the film is finally returning back into the Amsterdam Zuidoost community. Mama Agatha will soon be screening at the place where it all began, at SouthEast, Amsterdam on Saturday, May 7 2016, 15:00!

A last-minute announcement: Mama Agatha is screening tomorrow at W139 Amsterdam!
Khaled invites refugees in Amsterdam and surroundings for an evening with poetry, music and film. During the evening, you’ll have a chance to see the Leiden International Short Film Experience Audience Award winner, Mama Agatha, and the trailer of Yamen Abd Alnour’s Under the Sky. In collaboration with Stichting de Vrolijkheid, the band Art Colours will perform their beautiful music.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bratislava in cooperation with the National Cycling Coordinator and the Slovak Cycling Coalition invite all cycling fans to join us for the Cycling Festival Europe – “Bratislava: Let’s go Cycling!”.
Get on a bicycle and join us for the bicycle ride which will start at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Frana Krala 5) to the Slovak Radio building (Mytna) where the new orange bicycle stand will be officially handed-over to the Mayor of Bratislava Ivo Nesrovnal.

Current cycling weather in Lanzarote, Canary Islands: Marvellous!
On Monday, April 11, Mama Agatha is screening at the 16th Festival de Cine de Lanzarote.
In case you’re feeling adventurous, we just want to mention that you could still hop on a plane and visit what is by far one of the most stunning film festival settings on this pristine Atlantic island.

Following our screening in Stockholm, Sweden in 2015 and in Oslo, Norway in January, Mama Agatha will conclude our big 2016 screening tour in Scandinavia and welcome spring with what will be our northernmost screening so far: It is a pleasure to announce our second showing in Norway, where Foundation Kulturkvartalet will be presenting the film during a bicycle-themed weekend at the Jugendstilsenteret and art museum Kube on April 23, 2016 in the magical, stunning fjord city of Ålesund.
